Dittner, Rudolph A. (15 DEC 1920 – 22 NOV 2002)

Rudolph A. Dittner Sr., 81, Dorchester, Clark County, Wis., died on Friday, Nov. 22, 2002, at Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., on Tuesday Nov. 26, at Community Funeral Home, Spencer. The Rev. Hardie Logan, Church of Christ, Marshfield, officiated. Military honors were provided. Burial will be at a later date. Honorary pallbearers were Rick Hardrath, Scott Dittner, Bruce Dittner, Trent Dittner, Justin Dittner and Kevin Dittner.

Rudolph Albert Dittner was born on Dec. 15, 1920, in Greenwood, to Rudolph and Esther (nee Engelbretson) Dittner. He graduated from Spencer High School. He was a veteran of WWII, where he served as a medic in the Army. He married Doris Stafford on Aug. 17, 2002, at the Marshfield Church of Christ. His interests included fishing, hunting, the outdoors, metal detecting, and woodworking.

Survivors include his wife Doris, Dorchester; three sons, Rudolph (Joyce) Dittner Jr., Merrillan, Timothy (Vicky) Dittner, Humbird, and Richard (Kathy) Dittner, Melrose; three daughters, Doris (Dennis) Seefeld, Owen, Judith (Mark) Stafford, Dorchester, and Teresa (James) Brackett, Buchanan, Mich.; 21 grandchildren; and 42 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother, two sisters, and a grandson.

Community Funeral Home, Spencer, assisted the family with arrangements.
