Surenames: Braun, Fravert, Markee, Kademan -----Source: Tribune Record Gleaner (Loyal, Clark County, Wis.) -----Braun, Harry (20 March 1918 - 19 June 1995 Harry Phyllis Braun, 77, Greenwood, died Monday, June 19, 1995, at his home. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, 1995, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Greenwood. Rev. Larry Olson will officiate. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be at Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood, on Friday, June 23, from 6-9 p.m. There will be a prayer service at 8 p.m. Harry Phyllis Braun was born on March 20, 1918, in Spencer, to Otto and Hattie (nee Klabunde) Braun. He received his education in Colby area country schools. He grew up on the family farm east of Colby. After school, he hauled milk and was a cheese maker for Welcome Dairy east of Colby. He married Esther Bauer on Nov. 7, 1942, in Unity. She survives. They later moved to Marshfield where he worked for Roddis as a log foreman for about 10 years. IN 1954, they moved to Greenwood and he was self-employed as a logger. In the early 1960’s he started Weston Woodworks and continued working until he became ill in March of this year. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and word working. He was a member of G.W.R. Snowmobile Club. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Sue (Dennis) Fravert, Loyal; Janice (James) Markee, Oshkosh; two sons, Richard (Susan) Braun, Greenwood; and Dave (Jane) Braun, Greenwood; 16 grandchildren; one brother, Art Braun, Carlsbad, Cal.; one sister, Dorothy Kademan, Hemet, Cal.; Nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister. Rinka Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. |
