Pribbernow, Ruben (8 APR 1921 – 14 JAN 2003)

Ruben Pribbernow, 81, Spencer, died on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003, at Saint Joseph’s Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, Jan. 18, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Marshfield. The Rev. Robert Brandt officiated. Burial was in West Spencer Cemetery, town of Sherman. Pallbearers were Rose Morefield, Dan Kaczmarowski, Paul Kaczmarowski, Tim Kaczmarowski, Trish Smith, Ryan Pribbernow, Brooke Pribbernow and Austin Neumann.

Ruben Pribbernow was born on April 8, 1921, in Withee, to Alvin and Martha (nee Hanneman) Pribbernow. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942-45. He married Arline Buss on April 26, 1947, in Caroline. He was a dairy farmer, retiring in 1983. He was a volunteer fireman and a patrol grader operator for the town of Spencer. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and Loyal American Legion Post 175. His interests included hunting, fishing and playing cards.

Survivors include his wife, Arline Pribbernow, Spencer; four children, Fay (Rich) Kaczmarowski, Marshfield, Larry (Sue) Pribbernow, Marshfield, Keith Pribbernow, Colby, and Kay (Noel) Neumann, Abbotsford; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six brothers, Charles (Ilene) Pribbernow, Owen, Earl (Boots) Pribbernow, Green Valley, Ariz., Ben (Ruth) Pribbernow, Pavilion, Wyo., Alvin (Alice) Pribbernow, Colby, Don Pribbernow, Riverton, Wyo., and Robert (Kathy) Pribbernow, Sheboygan; and one brother-in-law, Leslie (Eva) Buss, Withee.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two sons, Roger Pribbernow and Douglas Pribbernow; and three sisters, Lucille Santala, Betty Halida and Evie Szczesniak.

Community Funeral Home, Spencer, assisted the family with arrangements.
