VANDEBERG, HORACE FAMILY

Horace C. VandeBerg was born in the town of York (where he lived all of his life) on May 22,1889, the son of John and Lillian Lawrence VandeBerg. In the family were Alvin, Manley, Ida VandeBerg Voight, and Ruth Keller Ma6gdefessel.

On June 18, 1914, Horace married Fern P. Alton. They had five children: Bernice. She married Oscar Egger and they lived in Fond du Lac where she taught school until she was stricken with cancer. She died December 19, 1968. They had four children--Aryin, James, JoAnn and Linda. There ate eleven grandchildren.

Harold lived in Neenah and is a retired fireman and state fire inspector. He and his wife Eunice have son son, Mike and two grandsons. They live in Menasha.

Lloyd is an industrial arts teacher at Eastern- Washington State Teachers College at Cheney, Washington. He and Ethel have one daughter Janie. Gale and his wife Zona live in Madison where he is Dean of the Extension Department of the University of Wisconsin. They have two boys, John and Terry, and a girl, Sharon, also five grandchildren.

Russel lived and farmed in the town of York for many years. He was employed by the Neillsville Post Office and recently retired as a rural carrier. He and his wife Erline are the parents of six children, Bruce, Craig, Mark, Marcia, Robert and Renee.

Horace passed away September 18, 1953 and Fern died December 31, 1974. They are both buried in the Kork Cemetery in which thef both took an active interest.
