Obit: Burchell, John A. (1890 – 1979)

(21 Sept. 1890 – 5 June 1979) John A Burchell, age 88, lifelong resident of Humbird, died June 5, 1979, at the Neillsville Memorial Hospital. He was born at Wisconsin Rapids Sept. 21, 1890 and married Elennor DeLong at Neillsville, Dec. 6, 1922. He was a member of the U.S. Army Engineers Corps and retired in 1956. Surviving is his wife; two sons, Clarence of Florida and Merle of Rockford, IL; three grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held June 9 from the Jensen Funeral Home in Hixton with Rev. Alvin Ebert officiating. Burial was in the Mentor Cemetery at Humbird. The Humbird American Legion Post has charge of the graveside military rites.
