Booth, Wayne M. (28 JAN 1921 – 28 SEP 2005)

Wayne M. Booth, 84, Chili, died on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2005, at Sacred Heart Hospital, EauClaire, where he was admitted on Sept. 1. A memorial service was held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 1, at Our Father’s House, Chili. The Rev. Ronald Johnson officiated. Burial of ashes will be held in Yolo Cemetery ay a later date.

Wayne M. Booth was born on Jan. 28, 1921, in Wautoma, to Silas R. and Nina (Cary) Booth. He grew up in several places, which included Wautoma, Cumberland, the town of Holcomb, and the town of Fremont. He graduated from high school in Potoski, Mich., in 1938. He loved staying with his grandpa, Sam Booth, at Silver Lake, Wautoma. He married Elaine J. Todd on Sept. 11, 1921(? 1941), in the town of Sherwood. They farmed in Cumberland and Plainfield, and in 1947, moved to a farm in rural Chili. He loved building things and repairing anything mechanical. He was always helping someone and never expecting anything in return. In 1968, they sold the farm and moved into Chili where they built a house. He then worked for Chili Implement for 30 years, and lastly, for Tiger Motors, Marshfield, until 2003. He served on the Big Four Grade School Board, Riverside Factory Board, Freemont Town Board, was an assessor, County ASC Board, church trustee, and Sunday school treasurer. One of his hobbies was restoring Mercury Comet cars.

He is lovingly survived by his wife of 62 years, Elaine, Chili, his children, Gale (Bruce) Kemnitz, Delwood, and Darryl Booth, Marshfield, his grandchildren, Sgt. Dwayne (Margaret) Booth, Daniel Booth, Danicse (Steve) Taylor, Kristy (Eric) Licciardi, and Kathleen (Brian Smith) Kemnitz; and by his great-grandchildren, Rick (Melissa) Pahl, Katie Taylor, Elizabeth Taylor, Rebekah Taylor, Hannah Taylor, Caleb Smith and Gideon Smith; a brother, Russell (Wilma) Booth, Wisconsin Rapids, and sisters, Laverne (Burley) McDonald, Rice Lake, and Lucille Wood, Barren.

Preceding him in death were his parents, and a brother, Silas Booth, Jr.
