Oldham, Alfred Daer (12 April 1880 – 16 Feb. 1960)

Funeral services were conducted Saturday from the Georgas Funeral Home for Alfred Daer Oldham, age 79, Rt.2 Withee, a former town of York and Neillsville resident, who died February 16, 1960 at his home following an illness of 8 years. The Rev. Frank B. Harcey of the United Church at Neillsville officiated, and burial was made in the Town of Levis Cemetery.

Mr. Oldham, son of the late Aaron and Sarah Ann (Hardman) Oldham, was born April 12, 1880 in Neillsville. Following his formal schooling he was engaged in farming in the town of York, and also did carpenter work. He was married July 2, 1902, at Neillsville to the former Bessie Savage. After retiring from farming, the family resided in Neillsville for 20 years. They also lived in Granton and Park Falls before moving to Withee.

Surviving is his wife, Bessie and their two sons, Harold of Rt.2 Withee, and Arnold, Rt.2, Owen. Also surviving are five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were: William, Charles, Ray and Guy Oldham, Alvin and Fredrick Wendt. The music selections “Saved By Grace” and “Abide With Me” were sung by Ellis Wall accompanied by Mrs. Jack Grether.
