Borgia, Felix J. (1847 – 25 SEP 1895)

Rev. Felix J. Borgia of Marshfield, died last Wednesday morning, Sept. 25th, 1895, from the effects of a stroke of apoplexy. He was to have preached his farewell sermon the Sunday before, but, when the congregation gathered at the church, it was learned that the reverend gentleman was suffering from sick headache and unable to appear. He did not feel well enough to be out Monday, yet little concern was felt until Tuesday morning, when a physician was called and it was learned that he was suffering from a stroke of apoplexy.

Mr. Borgia was a forcible speaker and never felt so well as when exhorting sinners to come to Christ. Many of our readers will remember him with kindly feelings, as the leader of the tent meetings held in this city (Colby, Clark Co., Wis.) a few weeks since, when he won many friends.

Mr. Borgia was born in Paris, France in 1847; he came to this country when quiet young and early enlisted in the cause of the church; he leaves to mourn his sudden demise, a devoted wife and three loving children; the remains were taken to New Richmond, Wis., the home of his wife at the time of his marriage, for interment, accompanied by Hon. J. W. DeGroff and E. A. Upham, as representatives of the Masonic fraternity of which he was an honored member.
