There will be a donation held for the benefit of Rev. Wm. Galloway at Sargent's hall to-morrow (Saturday) evening. Everybody invited.

The Eau Claire Lumber Co. has lost seven head of cattle from some unknown disease, in this vicinty during the past three weeks.

John McGrogan and B. F. Rusch have each built new fancy wire fences in front of their respective residences. They look very neat.

On Tuesday last J. H. and H. F. Sargent each received a couple of baskets of nice grapes and plums from their old friend, C. N. Bentley of Freeport, Ill., who spends several weeks hunting in this vicinity every fall. The COURIER returns thanks to "Hi" for liberal samples of the fruit.

H. E. Lytle lost a valuable cow on the R. R. track near the coal kilns on Monday evening last. It is said the engine which killed the cow, was running at a rate of speed not less than fifty miles an hour.

James Doherty is painting his house.
