Loether, Ottlea (19 Dec. 1863 – 10 Jan. 1947)

Funeral services for Mrs. Ottlea Loether, age 83, of the Town of Washburn, were held Monday afternoon at the Cole Funeral Home. The officiating clergyman was the Rev. Samuel D. Robbins of the Congregational Church. Internment was in the South Pine Valley Cemetery. Mrs. Loether died January 10, 1947, at the home of her nephew, Reinhold Pretsch, where she made her home the past eight years.

Ottlea Sawall, daughter of Frederick and Anna Sawall, was born December 19, 1863, in Sauk County, Wis., where she resided until 29 years ago. Later she married Reinhold Loether, who is also deceased. Surviving her are two children; a son, George of Hersville, N.D. and a daughter LaVeda (Frank) Thomman, of Dubuque, Iowa; three brothers, Emil and Louis Sawall, residing in Calif., and George Sawall of Sauk Co., and two sisters, Mrs. Lottie (Reinhold) Pretsch Sr. of Neillsville, and Mrs. Carl Gibbs of Prairie Du Sac.

Misses Phyllis Fahgren and Hazel Millard sang two songs accompanied by Mrs. Millard Cole at the piano. The pallbearers were, Fred and Christ Mohr, Otto Gehrt, Louis Embke, Otto Wetzel and William Milbreit. All of the pallbearers were former neighbors of Mrs. Loether when she resided in Pine Valley at the home of her sister, Mrs. Reinhold Pretsch Sr.
