Bord, Jacob (5 JUL 1871 – 26 JAN 1935)

Jacob Bord, 63, resident of this community for the past 30 years passed away at St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield at 10 p. m. Saturday, Jan. 26, of cancer.

He was born July 5, 1871 at Sheboygan, Wisconsin. At the age of 9 years he came to Vesper, Wood County, with his parents. Mr. Bord was a carpenter by trade and about 30 years ago came to Veefkind to work and has since resided there. It was there that he was married to Martha Bluemke on Jan. 25, 1911.

He is survived by his wife and three sons; Henry, Beloit; George and Arthur, Sheboygan; four brothers Matt, Fond du Lac; Lawrence, Buffalo Springs, N. D., Sebastian, Spencer; and Louis, Wisconsin Rapids. He also has seven sisters Mrs. Mary Moon; Mrs. Rose Sindler, Mrs. Maggie Haines, and Mrs. Alma Schultz. Milwaukee; Mrs. Amelia Brookner, Hayden, Wis., Mrs., Kate Peterson, Denis, Iowa; and Mrs. Lizzie Yanz, Wisconsin Rapids.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, January 29th at 1 p.m. at Swartout funeral home at Spencer, the Rev. W. Gamb officiating. Burial was made at the Salem Lutheran Cemetery.

Pall bearers were Walter Gourlie, John Bymers, Elmer Horn, Albert Tues, John Mueller and Simon Arnold.

Mr. Bord had been ill for some time and has not been able to work since October. He was a patient at the Marshfield Hospital for 10 days preceding his death.
