Obit: La Budde, Theodore (1851 – 1901)
Surnames: LA BUDDE, BRINKLESON, HENKEL SCHWARTZE Source: Colby Phonograph (Colby, Clark County, Wis.) 10/17/1901 La Budde, Theodore (25 DEC 1851 – 15 OCT 1901) Died, at his home in this city (Colby, Clark Co., Wis.), Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 15th, 1901, of consumption, Theodore La Budde, aged nearly fifty years. Theodore La Budde was born in Germany, Dec. 25th, 1851, and came with his parents to Wisconsin when he was 7 years of age, the family settling in Sheboygan Co., where he passed the early part of his life. He was united in marriage with Miss Sarah Brinkleson, Feb. 22nd, 1877, to which union there were born four daughters, Mrs. W.A. Henkel, Anna, Angie and Bertha, all of whom survive to mourn the loss of a loving husband and an ever kind and indulgent father. About fifteen years ago he came to Clark County, locating at Maple Works, where he was in the mercantile business, until he was burned out without insurance; he shortly after went to Neillsville where he was in business until a little more than six years ago, when he moved to Marshfield, and a year later came to Colby. “Teddy”, as he was familiarly called, was a man of most generous impulses, who never could do too much for a friends, he has hosts of friends throughout Clark County, especially, who will regret to learn of his death. Besides the immediate family, he leaves two brothers, O.A. and Reinhold La Budde of Elkhart, and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Schwartze of Rochester, Minn., and Mrs. Chas. Schwartze of Sergeant, Minn.
