(19 Dec. 1894 – 14 Feb. 1971) Funeral services for Peter H Boon, age 76 of Neillsville, who died at his home on Sunday, February 14, 1971, were to be held Wednesday, February 17, at 1:30 p.m. from the Georgas Funeral Home. The Rev. Melvin Nickel of the United Methodist Church was to officiate and burial was to be in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Peter H Boon was born December 19, 1894, in the Town of Weston to James and Louise (Hodges) Boon. He was educated in Christie area schools, worked with threshing rigs and was a milk hauler for many years. His marriage to the former Christina Jancek took place in Greenwood on June 1, 1920. Mr. Boon farmed in this area before his retirement and moved into the city of Neillsville about 5 years ago. A veteran of WWI, he was a member of the Haugen-Richmond American Legion Post No. 73. Surviving him in addition to his wife are two children, Mrs. Franklin (Bernice) Zickert of Neillsville and Merrill Boon of Waukegan, IL; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
