On Wednesday, April 20th, 1910, word was received here by telegram of the death on that day of Mary McGinley Pradt, wife of Walter C. Pradt, at their residence near Woodboro, Texas.

Mrs. Pradt was in her forty-sixth year and was born in Canada, but removed with her parents to this state when a child. On May 8, 1883, she was married at Wausau to Walter C. Pradt, bother of Henry W. Pradt and Louis A. Pradt of this city. They lived here until about 1895, during which time Mr. Pradt was for several years a member of the Wausau Law and Land Association, after which they removed, to Colby, Clark Co., Wis., where Mr. Pradt conducted a general mercantile business until the summer of 1908. In that year they made their home at Bayside Colony, on the gulf coast, near Woodsboro, Refugio, Texas, and later, on their farm a few miles distant. For a number of years past Mrs. Pradt was in failing heath and their removal to Texas was made in the hope that a change might work a cure. This hope seemed at first to be realized, but within the past few months her malady rapidly increased until death came quietly and painlessly. She was a woman of rare gentleness and sweetness, qualities which won her close friends and made her a most devoted wife and mother. She leaves six children: Mollie, now Mrs. Joseph Blosser, Kittie, Mabel, Charles, Charlotte and John.
