Surnames: VINCENT WINTERS NICKEL Source: MARSHFIELD NEWS HERALD (Marshfield, Wood Co., Wis.) 07/11/1988 Vincent, Jim C. (26 NOV 1907 – 9 JUL 1988) NEILLSVILLE, Clark Co., Wis. – Jim C. Vincent, 80, Neillsville, died at 9:45 a.m. Saturday at Neillsville Memorial Hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville. The Rev. Thomas LaChapelle of United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Neillsville Cemetery. Iris Musil will be the organist for Corrine Armitage, soloist. Visitation will bhe held at the Gesche Funeral Home from 6-9 tonight, and again on Tuesday until time of services. He was born Nov. 26, 1907, in the town of York, Clark Co., to John F. and Julia Vincent. He attended the Neillsville schools, graduating in 1926. He married Merille E. Winters, July 30, 1931, at Rockford, Ill. He first worked for a garage in Withee for a few years. They then farmed in the town of York for 25 years before moving to Neillsville in 1954. He worked for Pathfinder Mobile Home in Spencer until his retirement in 1972. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, and the Loyal Order of the Moose. He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Joyce of Neillsville; one sister, Mrs. Keziah Nickel of Milwaukee; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was predeceased by his parents; one son, Jimmy; four brothers, John, Victor, Alvin and Percy; and two sisters, Eve and Gertrude.
