Surname: Shaffer, Welker Source: Marshfield News Herald (Marshfield, Wood County, Wis.) Friday, 23 May 1980; page 19 Shaffer, Edward K. (1901? – 13 May 1980) Owen – Former resident Edward K. Shaffer, Finland, Minn.; died May 13 at his home. He was 78. Services and burial were in Minnesota. The Rock Island, Ill., native came to Owen with his parents at the age of 10 and moved in the early 1920s to Finland, Minn. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy, three sons, Edward of St. Louis; Elwood of Virginia, Minn.; and Douglas at home; and a sister, Hester Welker, Owen.
