Schaele, Theodore R. (October 1, 1902 - August 21, 1950)

Theodore Schaele Dies of Injuries sustained in an automobile upset Sunday afternoon, August 20, 1950. He was thrown 57 feet from his car, and was taken unconscious to the Neillsville Hospital. He was injured in the upper chest and head, and he lingered until 8:30 p.m. Monday, August 21, 1950. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Georgas Funeral Home with the Rev. Virgil Nulton officiating and interment will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Mr. Schaele was on Country Trunk G, about six miles north of its intersection with US-10. At 5:40 p.m. he was headed south on County Trunk G. Officer Frantz who was called found that the car had traveled first on the west or right side of the road; then cut to the east side into the ditch; hit a culvert and tipped over. Mr. Schaele was alone in the car; two witnesses to the accident, Melvin Dux and Ervin Marg, told Officer Frantz that the car was going fast.

Theodore R Schaele was the son of Rudolph and Anna Schaele. His mother died in 1932 and his father resides on Route one Greenwood. He was born October 1, 1902, at Fond du Lac. He did farm work and was employed in a tannery at Fond du Lac. He was married June 26, 1930 to Anita Garbisch of Granton. The couple had one son, Elmer, who now resides at Athens, WI.

In addition to his father, he is survived by a sister, Mrs. Verna Payne of Neillsville and by two brothers, Edward of Greenwood and Clarence of Sheboygan. Mr. Schaele’s last employment was at the Glen Mills farm north of Christie.
