Maggie Philippi was born in the town of Woodville, Calumet Co., Wis., Aug. 2nd, 1875, and came to Colby when but a small child, with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Philippi, who settled on a farm in the town of Colby, Clark Co. Assistance was immediately summoned and her lifeless body place on the bed. The doctor pronounce it heart failure. It was indeed a san homecoming for the husband, who is a member of a Soo Line Bridge crew, and was on his way home, arriving on the early morning limited.

Besides her husband and two little children, she is survived by her parents, four brothers and three sisters, Peter of Dale; Mrs. Frank Chase of Colby; Nick of Neillsville; Katie of Colby; Mike M. of Marshfield; Laura of Colby, and John M. of Lake Villa, Ill., all of whom were present at the funeral.
