Oldham, Marvin Lee (April 1, 1938-March 16, 1997)

Marvin Oldham, age 58, of Neillsville, died Sunday March 16, 1997 at the Memorial Medical Center Nursing Home in Neillsville.

Marvin Lee Oldham was born April 1, 1938, in the Town of Seif, to Charles and Margaret (Dormandy) Oldham. He attended school in Seif and then enlisted into the U.S. Army on March 14, 1957, serving until the spring of 1959. Later that year he was united in marriage to NaJean Coyle in Neillsville. They later divorced. Marvin worked at Kurt Marg’s rendering plant trucking cattle for two years and then at Nelson Muffler for 17 years. He then owned and operated Oldham Pallet Co. until his retirement in 1988. Marvin had belonged to the Civil Defense in Wisconsin and was a member of the Wisconsin Wildlife Federation.

Surviving Marvin are three sons: Tim, Rick (Sherlene) and Randy all of Neillsville; three daughters: Tammy (Doug) Ross of Marshfield, Debbie (Dennis) Guden of Arpin and Robin of Neillsville; nine grandchildren; his mother, Margaret Oldham of Neillsville; and 13 siblings, Gordon (Shirley) Oldham of Greenwood, Amanda Wampole of Thorp, Walter “Bunny” Oldham of Neillsville, Betty (Edgar) Ott, of Ripon, Dick (Paulette) Oldham of Viroqua, Bill “Wayne” (Lucy) Oldham, June (Jack) Kluckhohn, Bonnie (Bill) Mitte, Ronald “Dusty” (Lois) Oldham, Frank (Charlotte) Oldham, all of Neillsville, Kenny (Nancy) Oldham of Black River Falls, Donna (Jeff) Siltala of Marshfield and Donald (Ann) Oldham of Granton.

Preceding him in death was his father, Charles Oldham.

The Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 1997 at the Gesche Funeral Home. Rev. Douglas Bjerke will officiate. Burial will be in the Town of Levis Cemetery, with military rites accorded by the Neillsville Haugen-Richmond American Legion Post #73. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour before the service Wednesday at the Gesche Funeral Home.

Casket bearers are Tim, Rick and Randy Oldham, Doug Ross, Dennis Guden and Bill Mitte.
