Surnames: REDIG MUELLER WISNET WEBER THORN LAMBERT Source: Colby Phonograph (Colby, Clark County, Wis.) 02/27/1913 --------- Redig, Anna (27 AUG 1827 – 17 FEB 1913) (Hartford Times) Mrs. Anna Redig, one of the oldest residents of Washington Co., Wis., passed away in death at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Anton Mueller, of the town of Hartford, Monday evening, Feb. 17th, 1913, between 10 and 11 o’clock, of old age, aged 85 years, 5 months and 21 days. Anna Wisnet was born in Bavaria, Germany, Aug. 27, 1827, and came to America with her parents in 1844, and settled on a farm in the town of Addison. She was married to Philip Redig on the 20th of Jan., 1850, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Deceased is survived by ten children, her husband having preceded her in death on Sept. 13, 1892. They are Theresa (Mrs. Anton Mueller) of the town of Hartford; John and Joseph of Winona, Minn.; Andrew of Addison; Michael and Elizabeth (Mrs. Peter Weber) of Marshfield; Kate (Mrs. Math. Thorn) of Colby, Clark Co., Wis.; Mary (Mrs. Michael Lambert) of Fountain City; Jacob of Towlerton, Texas; Henry of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, and one brother, John, of Marshfield. She is also survived by seventy-two grandchildren and fifty-nine great-grandchildren. Since 1891 Mrs. Redig has been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. Anton Mueller. The funeral was held Thursday morning from St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Rev. Burelbach officiating. Deceased was highly respected an beloved by everyone, and her death removes from our midst a venerable figure. She had a motherly affection for her children and loved to see them prosperous and happy, and it was a pleasure to meet her, as she always had a pleasant smile for everyone.
