--------- Lafee, G. Warren (10 OCT 1851 – 31 MAR 1913)

Ass announced in the Phonograph last week, Warren Lafee died at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield on Monday evening, March 31st, 1913, following an operation for prostatectomy, aged 61 years, 5 months and 21 days.

G. Warren Lafee was born in Mayville, Dodge Co., Wis., Oct. 10th, 1851, where he resided until he reached young manhood. He was married at Stevens Point, on April 13th, 1876 to Miss Ada Bradford, and soon after came to Colby, settling on a piece of land in the town of Hull, Marathon Co., Wis., where he continued to reside up to his death. He was a hardworking, honest man and highly respected by his neighbors and all who knew him. His wife died Oct. 7th, 1903. On Nov. 8th, 1905, he was married to Mrs. Phoebe Greenwood, who, with seven daughters and five sons, children by his first marriage, survive to mourn his death. The children are: Mrs. Bernard Robinson, Mrs. Amber Tompson, Miss Fern, Ray, Gerold and Bert of Netherhill, Sask. Canada; Mrs. Ethel Higbee of Powell, S.D.; Mrs. Roscoe Wilkins of Abbotsford; Mrs. Robert Brotherton, Ress and Miss Eva of Colby; George of Powell, S.D. He also leaves one brother, Albert F. Lafee of Fort Des Moines, Iowa, and one sister, Mrs. Susie Cunningham of Wintersett, Iowa.

The deepest sympathies of all friends and neighbors in this vicinity are extended to the bereaved family.

The funeral was held from the M.E. Church in this city, on Friday, Rev. W.E. Marsh officiating, and was largely attended by relatives, neighbors and friends.
