Source: Marshfield News Herald, Saturday May 6, 2006 Surnames: Amundsen, Auburg, Berg, Brown, Brunner, Burhop, Gehrke, Greschner, Kattre, LeDoux, Main, Pomputis, Prock, Ring, Shattuck, Stashek, Taylor, Usher JoAnn Leona Burhop OWEN -- JoAnn Leona Burhop 69, Owen, died in the Emergency Room of Saint Joseph's Hospital of an apparent heart attack after working at an appreciation dinner at St. Katherine's Episcopal Church in Owen, Saturday, April 29, 2006, Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 5, 2006, at St. Katherine's Episcopal Church, Owen. Internment will be at a later date in Riverside Cemetery, Withee. The Rev. Guy Usher Jr. and Deacon Tony Ring will officiate. Pallbearers will be Brian Gehrke, Gary Gehrke, Kim Pomputis, David Berg, Ron Taylor and Phil Greschner. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Prock, Eldon Maine, Paul Stashek Jr. and Clayton Kattre. Visitation will be from 4 p. m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 4, 2006, at Maurina Funeral Home, Owen. JoAnn was born Sept. 30, 1936, in Thorp to Anton and Theresa (Brunner) Auberg. She was a 1954 graduate of Withee High School and Medford Normal School. She taught for two years at Frenchtown School in the town of Hixon. JoAnn and Pat Amundsen were married May 12, 1957. They were later divorced. JoAnn and Alan Burhop were married July 14, 1973. She worked as a secretary and bookkeeper at Burhops Withee Oldsmobile Garage and then as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Clark County Health Care Center for 11 years. She currently was working part-time at the O-W Foodliner in Owen. JoAnn was an active member of St. Katherine's Episcopal Church, Episcopal Church Women and the Altar Guild and served on the Vestry. She was also the church organist for 33 years. She was a former Eastern Star member and served as chairperson of the Owen-Withee area blood drives. JoAnn enjoyed dancing, church activities, family and grandchildren, and the outdoors. JoAnn is survived by her children, Jody (Donna) Amundsen of St. Cloud, Minn., Billy Amundsen of Owen and Teri (Robert) Shattuck of Withee; four grandchildren, Kyle LeDoux, Hannah Amundsen, Robert Shattuck Jr. and David Shattuck; her sisters, Millie Gehrke of Abbotsford and Sharon Brown of Owen; and one sister-in-law, Diane Burhop Prock of Eau Claire. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alan, on Sept. 29, 2003; her former husband, Pat Amundsen, in October 1991; and two brothers-in-law, Ron Gehrke on Nov. 14, 2003, and Butch Brown on Nov. 24, 2001. Memorials may be given in her name to St. Katherine's Episcopal Church.
