Marg, Frank Carl, Sr. (6 Dec. 1869 – 27 Jan. 1937)

Frank Carl Marg, Sr., father of the sons now operating a successful fox ranch, passed away at his home Wednesday morning, Jan. 27, at the age of 67 years, one month and 21 days.

He has always enjoyed good health and on Tuesday evening attended the movies. The following morning he failed to get up. His wife became alarmed so went to his bedroom, where she found him dead. He had quietly passed away as he slept.

The deceased was born in Pomerania, Germany, Dec. 6, 1869. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith and a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church until his death.

At the age of 19, in the year 1888, he came to America, six months later than his parents and settled on a farm where he resided until his death.

He was united in holy wedlock to Pauline Kupke in the year of 1900.

To this union were born five children, three sons and two daughters. An infant daughter preceded him in death.

For eleven years he was road supervisor in the town of Pine Valley.

He was a kind and loving husband and father, and will be sadly missed by his family, relatives, and friends.

He was an industrious honest farmer who was always thoughtful of his family and friends. Even in his late years he was never idle, always helping with the work on the farm.

He leaves to mourn his death, his wife, three sons, Paul of Fairchild; Walter of Black River Falls and Kurt on the home fox farm; one daughter, Meta, Mrs. Richard Hanby and two grandchildren of Black River Falls; also two sisters, Mrs. Fred Kiefat of Aneta, North Dakota; Mrs. Hulda Poppe of the town of Weston; and one brother, William in San Francisco, Calif.; a brother, August, deceased, of Pine Valley, preceded him in death.

Pallbearers at the funeral were; Fred Barr, of Greenwood; Ferdinand Pflughoeft, Dave Sief, Carl Hessler, William Tischer, and Fred Witte of Pine Valley.

Funeral services were held at the home at one o’clock and at the Lutheran Church in Neillsville at two o’clock, Rev. Baumann officiating. Interment was in the Neillsville Cemetery.
