Allar, 87, Loyal, died at the Colonial Center, Colby, on Thursday, May 11, 2006. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 16, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal. Monsignor John Malak celebrated the Mass. Burial followed at St. Mary;s Catholic Cemetery, Colby. Pallbearers were Scott Allar, Jerry Freek, Albert Pinsch, Vaughn Lucht, Robert Pinsch, Don Freeck, and Greg Brock. Raymond Matthew Allar was born on July 9, 1918. in Dorchester, to Jacob and Louise (nee Dombrowe) Allar. He received his education at St. Louis Parochial School, Dorchester, and graduated from Dorchester High School in 1936. He married Florence M. Freeck at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford, by Monsignor Gregory Reuter on Sept. 25, 1940. After their marriage, they owned and operated a dairy farm in the town of Medford from 1940 until 1969. They moved to Loyal in 1969 and he worked for Co-op Services of Greenwood, in Loyal, until retiring in 1987. After his retirement, he and his wife enjoyed traveling and spending time with their children. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 25, 1990, with all four wedding attendants present. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church; a member of the Knights of Columbus, third and fourth degree; and for more than 50 years, where he currently was a member , Our Lady of Fatima Council #4963. He previously served on the Loyal City Council and on the board of directors for two credit unions. He will be missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his three children, Gordon (Mary Ann) Allar, Garden Ridge, Texas, Wayne (Jeanne) Allar, Red Wing, Minn., and Barbara (Dave) Lucht, Spencer; four grandchildren, Lisa (John) Bowen, Lakeville, Minn., Scott (Barb) Allar, Welch, Minn., Vaughn (Winnie) Lucht, Loyal, and Jennifer (Greg) Brock, Loyal; five great-grandchildren, Nicholas Bowen, Gabrielle Bowen, Cole Allar, Dawson Brock, and Zaida Brock; and one sister, Frances Skinner, Ft. Laurel, N.J. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Florence, on June 2, 2000; three brothers, James and George, both in infancy, and Jack Allar and one sister, Lillian Greissinger. Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal, assisted the family with arrangements. |
