NEILLSVILLE HIGH SCHOOL Class of 1957 gathers for 45th reunion

The Neillsville High School graduating class of 1957 gathered at the Riviera Supper Club on Sunday, September 1, 2002 for their 45th reunion.

The guests were welcomed by Jon Swenson, master of ceremonies. The dinner prayer was given by Richard Bertrang.

A moment of silence was observed prior to dinner for the deceased classmates. They are Patricia (Miller) Hagen, Dennis Johnson, Betty (Counsell) Noah, Lester Finder, Edgar Bertrang, Jim Krause and Susan Thompson.

Following dinner a brief meeting was held. The 50th reunion will be held in mid September 2007. Jon Swenson gave a quiz to classmates relating to 1957 activities. The members voted to give a monetary donation in memory of our deceased classmates. A committee decided to make this donation to the ‘clock’ fund to be erected by the gazebo in downtown Neillsville.

Out of state members and guests attending were: Bill and Karen Seelow, Tucson, AZ; Betsy (Norman) Kozlowski, Waubun, MN; Dean and Ann Zickert, Minneapolis, MN; and Dennis and Mary Harcey, Stillwater, MN.

Members from Wisconsin attending were: Arlene (Trachte) Lyle Abrahamson, Fairchild; Lee and Janis (Urlaub) Steinhilber, Wisconsin Rapids; Jon and Rita Swenson, Westfield; Beverly (Seelow) and Terry Snyder, New Berlin; John and Donna Mazola, Greendale; Susan (Wall) and Robert Stoughton, Mondovi; Judith (Duchow) Flick, Black River Falls; John and Darlene Trogner, Oregon; Patricia (Cutts) and Marvin Wagner, Menomonee; Patricia (Bollom) White, Eau Claire; Mary (Hanson) and Merrill Lovvik, Eau Claire; Don and Karen Shaw, West Allis; and Richard Bertrang, Mazomanie.

Neillsville area members attending were: Arthur and Jeanne Stiemke, Bill and Sue Zank, Ed Kurasz, Donald and Patricia Strangfeld, Dean Bryan, Eileen (Hoffman) and Bob Bell, Joyce (Mashin) and Terry Becker, Jerry and Judy Quicker, Tom and Betty (Ylvisaker) Barr, Ron Ziegler, Jo Ann (Grap) and Gary Ruzic, Arlys (Smith) and Ervin Knoop, Janice (Greeler) and Harold Mayer, Lewis and Diane Gurney, Arlene (Thoma) and Kurt Hediger.

Other guests attending were: Joan Wren, Kay Johnson, and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Overman.

Door prizes were awarded to: Lee Steinhilber, Susan Stoughton, Jerry Quicker, Dennis Harcey and Patricia Wagner.

Several class members and spouses of the classes of 1957 and 1962 enjoyed a tour of the high school given by John Gaier on Saturday, August 31st.

The committee members were: Arlys Knoop, Arlene Hediger, Betty Barr, Eileen Bell, Jo Ann Ruzic, Ron Ziegler and Janice Mayer.
