CLASS OF ’57 MEETS FOR REUNION, 50’S NOSTALGIA

On Saturday, September 3, 1977, 93 including 46 class members attended the 20th anniversary reunion of the Neillsville High School Class of 1957. The group met at the Neillsville Country Club, where the meal, program and evening of dancing were enjoyed by all. A short program included several class members modeling clothing styles of the 50’s with background music of the 50’s.

Teachers attending included Mr. and Mrs. John Perkins, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Hoesly, and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Braatz, all of Neillsville.

Class reunion committee members were JoAnn Ruzic, Arlys Knoop, Janice Mayer, Bill Zank and Nancy Tresemer.

The class voted to have a 25-year reunion in five years. Prizes were awarded to: Bill Seelow, coming the longest distance; Tom and Betty Barr, 1st reply; Pat Hagen, “20th” reply; Arlys Knoop and Joan Waltemate, most children; Art Stiemke, youngest child (10 days old); Bill Seelow, Eileen Bell and Bill Zank wearing their class rings; Bob Bell, door prize.

Dean Zickert was given a large cake, complete with 40 candles as it was his birthday (the cake was cut and shared by all there), and Lee and Janis Steinhilber were given an anniversary gift, it being their wedding anniversary. Lee was also the Master of Ceremonies.
