Obit: Schaefer, William (1860? – 1937)
Surname: Schaefer, Kurth, Stange Source: Neillsville Press (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) 16 Dec. 1937 Schaefer, William (1860? – 8 Dec. 1937) William Schaefer passed away Friday, Dec. 8, at his home at Plymouth, burial taking place there. Mr. and Mrs. Schaefer came to Neillsville in 1910 and purchased the Robert Kurth farm in the town of Grant. Thirteen years ago they sold the farm to William Bradford, taking in on the deal a house on North Grand Avenue, where they moved and lived until about a year ago, when they returned to Plymouth to spend the evening of their lives near their children. Mr. Schaefer leaves his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Hilda Stange, Plymouth, and two sons, Henry, of Plymouth, and Edwin. * * * * * * * * * Source: Neillsville Press (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) 23 Dec. 1937 Further details regarding the death of William Schaefer a former resident of this community, were contained in The Plymouth (Wis.) Review. The family lived on the Robert Kurth farm from 1910 to 1932, when they moved to Neillsville, and in December, 1936, returned to Plymouth to live near their children. Mr. Schaefer, who was 76 years old, was crossing a street when stricken with a heart attack and fell down. He recovered consciousness and then was taken with a sudden and fatal attack. The funeral was held at the Lutheran Church at Plymouth. Surviving are the wife, two sons, William, Plymouth and Edwin of Chetek, and a daughter, Mrs. Bruno (Hilda) Stange of Plymouth. |
