YORK

Miss Cora McAlester, from Stevens Point, gave the people of York a good temperance lecture on the evening of the 16th.

Philip Howard has moved into Mr. Loomis Hosley’s house.

Willis Mortimer is very busy getting out timber for a barn. He has let the job of putting up the frame to Wm. Rowe.

Farmers are putting in their grain. The ground is getting quite dry.

We are glad to see Samuel Gibson getting around again. His health has been poor the past winter. He intends to go Iowa as soon as he is able to make it his home. We are sorry to have him leave our town.

Walter Graves lost about 30 rods of fence Monday by fire, which caught from a burning stump he had set on fire.

The Good Templars are fixing for open lodge to come off sometime next week.
