WILCOX

One of Joe Sutherland’s horses broke its leg last week while he was skidding logs and he had to shoot it.

Mrs. Austin Tucker is reported quite sick with erysipelas. Dr. Lyman is attending her.

Two of Bush Davis’ children are reported sick with lung fever.

Bert Hale’s family is having the measles.

School in District No. 2 has been closed for the past two weeks on account of the teacher being sick.

Rowe & Lawrence, our merchants, shipped a car load of staves from Granton, the first car load shipped from that station. They intend to ship another car load this week. They find it much handier than going to Neillsville to load cars and they believe when they have a good thing to use it and if one wants to see a well filled and well kept store and two jolly good natured fellows, just step into the York Center store.

The people of the Center intend to have a donation party at George Lindsley’s Friday evening, the 27th, for Rev. J. Conner.

Rev. L. Allen preached for Rev. J. Conner last Sunday, he being unable to fill his appointment on account of sickness.
