Surnames: PEASE TURNER LACEY BOLTON GARVIN McKENZIE HENDREN Source: Republican and Press (Neillsville, Wis.) 02/04/1892 WILCOX Vet Pease, Jr., has gone down to Tomah this week on business. Abel Turner is very low yet. Dr. Lacey was called, but does not think there is much hope of recovery. Hugh Bolton, son of S.W. Bolton, is very sick and Dr. Lacey is attending him. T.H. Garvin is home from camp, and Al Garvin was home Saturday but went back Sunday. Died – About 12 o’clock Thursday night, January 28th, in her 68th year, Mrs. Anna McKenzie, wife of David McKenzie. She had been ailing for some time but was not considered dangerous until the day she died. She was able to sit at the table and eat dinner with the family the day she died. She leaves a husband, two sons, and six daughters. They are all married except one son. The funeral was held Sunday at the M.E. Church at the Centre. The remains were placed in the cemetery at York Centre. The church was not large enough to admit of all the congregation, and some of them had stay outside. The sermon was preached by Rev. W.T. Hendren, she having been a member of the Presbyterian Church. Mr. D. McKenzie was not able to attend the funeral as he had an attack of the grippe. REPORTER |
