Galbreath, Inez Viola (7 Nov. 1863 – 1938)

Mrs. Robert Galbreath passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Isaac Higgins, at Granton Tuesday morning at 5:30.

Inez Viola Fox was born in Tippecanoe County, Indiana, Nov. 7, 1863, to Mr. and Mrs. Israel Fox.

When a small child her parents moved to Richland Center, where she grew to womanhood. Here she attended high school and prepared herself for the teaching profession, but due to the fact that she was an only child, she remained at home with her parents. At the age of 21 in Jan., 1885, she was married to Robert Galbreath, who preceded her in death.

Five children were born to this union, 2 boys dying in infantry. The surviving children are Mrs. Isaac Higgins of Granton, Mrs. Chris Feutz of Cannonville and Ross Galbreath of Lac La Bische, Canada. She also leaves 10 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.

Mr. and Mrs. Galbreath moved to Clark County in 1899, and purchased a farm in the town of Washburn, and here the family lived until his death in Aug., 1913, when Mrs. Galbreath returned to Richland Center to care for her aged father until he passed away about 3 years ago. At that time she returned to Clark County to live with her daughters.

Deceased was a member of the Christian Church all her life, loyal to its needs and true to its teachings. She loved people, made friends readily and was always popular socially. Since coming to this community and even at the advanced age of 75 she enjoyed working in the Ladies’ Aid.

Funeral services will be held at the Congregational church in Neillsville at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon, Rev. G. W. Longenecker officiating. The remains will be laid to rest in the Neillsville cemetery beside her husband.

The pallbearers will be Ole P. Larson, Ezra Sharratt, Art Williams, James Short, Ed Short and Edward Schroeder.
