------Siegrist, Jacob (23 March 1863 - 16 Feb. 1902)

OBITUARY

This week it becomes our sad duty to chronicle the untimely death of our highly respected fellow townsman, Mr. Jacob Siegrist, who passed away at 9 o’clock Monday, Feb 16th. The cause of his death being pneumonia.

The deceased was born in Calumet Co., (WI) on March 23,1863. He removed to the town of Brighton during the winter of 1888,1889 and settled on the place on which he resided until the time of his death.

On April 4,1889 he was united in marriage to Miss Ida Franke of Calumet county, the union was blessed with six children, three of whom have already crossed the silvery waters and stand on the other shore, welcoming the kind and loving father who’s only earthly ambition was to see his children grow up to be true men and women.

The deceased was a modest and retiring disposition but always taking a prominent part in any movement for the betterment of the community in which he lived. He was honest, conscientious, and ambitious, an affectionate husband, a loving father and a steadfast friend.

Besides a faithful wife and three children he is survived by a bereaved father and mother who reside at Chilton, WI; two brothers, John and Henry, of Charlestown, WI; two sisters, Mrs. Henry Rathert and Mrs. Chas. Meyers of Charlestown, WI.

All of whom have sincere sympathy of the entire community in their Deep affliction.
