Surnames: Albert, Malinowski, Ravet, Ticknor, Bak, Halida, Kotlowski, Wnek, Czuba, Higley Source: Thorp Courier (Thorp, WI) July 5, 2006 ----Albert, Arthur James “Jim” (February 19, 1935 - February 19, 2006) Arthur James “Jim” Albert, age 71, passed away Sunday February 19, 2006 at his residence, 880 Jonathon Way, Altamonte Springs, FL 32701. Jim was born February 19, 1935 the son of C. O. (Chub) and Lorraine Albert in Marshfield, WI. Jim and Pat (Malinowski) were united in marriage on June 17, 1961 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen, WI. Jim’s working life began as a truck driver for the Owen Pea Cannery followed by Thorp Finance Corp., and finally a mail carrier before working and co-owning Owen-Withee Motors and Albert Leasing Company. In 1988 he and Pat moved to Central Florida where they managed motels for Marcus Corporation until his retirement in 1994. Upon retirement he worked part-time for Document Courier Service and as a Crossing Guard for Seminole County Schools. While in Owen-Withee, he was an active member of the Lions Club, golfed and bowled as often as he could, and as a member of Holy Rosary Catholic church he was a part of the Holy Name Men’s Club and was a 4th degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. Jim will be dearly missed by his wife Pat; their children; Peggy, Orlando, FL, Joseph, Jacksonville, FL, and Cindy, Eau Claire, WI; granddaughters Jessica and Kristie, Jacksonville, FL; sister, Jean (Mike) Ravet of Wausaukee, WI; sisters and brothers-in-law: Jackie Ticknor, Greendale, WI, Frances (Whitey) Bak, Burbank, IL, Stella (Stanley) Halida Sr., Lublin, WI, Marcie (Jerry) Kotlowski, Grand Marsh, WI, Mary Ann (Jerry) Wnek, Thorp, WI, Josephine (Wally) Czuba, Moline, IL, and Marcie Higley, Mission Viejo, CA; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents C. O. and Lorraine, his brother Sam, and daughter-in-law Kim. Visitation with family and friends was held on February 25, 2006 from 11-2:00 p.m. at the South Seminole Chapel of Collision Family Funeral Homes. Funeral services at 2:00 p.m. were (was) officiated by his pastor, Monsignor Edward Thompson from Saint Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Altamonte Springs. Following the funeral, a gathering for family and friends was held at Jim and Pat’s home in celebration and remembrance of Jim’s life with us.
