-----Meier, Lillian Grace (July 24, 1916 - March 7, 2006)

Lillian G. Meier, age 89, was carried into the kingdom of heaven Tuesday, March 7, 2006, to begin her eternal life in a place where there will be no more pain, or suffering, or tears.

Today we celebrate her life. Lillian Grace Kaddatz was born on July 24, 1916 to Gustav and Erma Kaddatz. In October of 1934, she married William H. Meier. Together they raised three children.

Lillian, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend was a joy! She lived life to the fullest and always saw the good in everyone. Her gentle spirit and quiet nature reflect who she was. It was impossible for family to get past her without a warm hug and a big kiss. She enjoyed her family time very much. She was always up for a good game of sheepshead (even though she wouldn’t lead trump to her partner). In her quiet years she was always up for a nice visit. Working on jigsaw puzzles would help her pass the time. She was surrounded by pictures of all her many grandchildren and loved to show them off. Caring for them when she was able brought her unspeakable happiness.

Her life was long-lived. Her life was well-lived and pleasing to the Lord. She has touched our hearts like no one else ever can. We will miss you, Grandma Lil!

Lillian is survived by her children, William L (Virginia) Meier, of Neillsville; Allen (Margie) Meier, of Oregon, WI; Elaine (Charles) Glassbrenner, of Neillsville; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Raymond (June) Kaddatz; and many special friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Bill; one brother, Donald; one grandson, Charles Glassbrenner; and one great-grandson, Andrew Neville.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 11, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Neillsville.

Very special thanks to all of the caregivers at Neillsville Memorial Health and Rehab Center, Neillsville. Mere words cannot express our gratitude and love for all you have done.

The Gesche Funeral Home of Neillsville assisted Lillian’s family with arrangements.
