Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Westerhoff of Chicago were weekend and Fourth of July guests of Mr. and Mrs. B. Peterson and family and Mrs. Chas. Hudson. They visited at the Sears farm home Tuesday night and called on other friends. They left Neillsville 20 years ago, Mr. Westerhoff also transacted business in this section of the state.

Mrs. Tena Mowder of Los Angeles, Calif., arrived here Sunday to spend a week with Mr. and Mrs. John Charles and with other friends and relatives, also visiting her sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. A. Bishop and children at La Crosse. The Bishops brought her to Owen and Neillsville. She will visit Milwaukee and Chicago on the return trip.

H. M. Hanson of Milwaukee and his sister, Mrs. Olive Hartwell of Princeton arrived here Saturday to spent the Fourth with their sisters, Mrs. John Charles and husband, and to see Mrs. Tena Mowder of Los Angeles, who had made her home with the Charles family for many years. Mr. Hanson returned home Tuesday, Mrs. Hartwell remaining for another day.

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Weast and daughter, Mary Francis of Greenwood, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sechler and daughter, Mildred, and Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Raine of Black River Falls were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dwyer and Mrs. Ada Weast.

Billie and Dickie Lowe have the exclusive sales and service franchise for the Popmatic popcorn machine in 28 counties. Billie was at St. Louis, Mo., last week taking a course in servicing the machines. They already have quite a number placed in this territory.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul O’Hara were here from Rio over the Fourth.

Mr. and Mrs. Ewald Schwartz and son of Greenwood spent the Fourth with Neillsville relatives.

Miss Ruth Zimmerman is spending the week here with her parents.

Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Leazer of Spooner visited the H. O. Shindeldecker family last Thursday.

Miss Verna Stricker, Marshfield; Misses Ila Counsell and Mildred Olson, Neillsville; Miss Joyce Smith, Fairchild, and Doris Carlson, Turtle Lake, left at 5 a.m. Wednesday morning on a four-week trip to the west coast, planning to visit Yellowstone National Park and many other places of interest.
