--------- Boylan, James (5 OCT 1861 – 13 OCT 1931)

James Boylan, a resident of the town of Longwood (Clark Co., Wis.), died at his home four and one-half miles southwest of Withee, Tuesday evening at about 10:30, age 70 years.

Mr. Boylan had been a resident of that township for the past twenty years. He was born at Marquette, Wis., October 5, 1861, and was united in marriage to Ellen Murphy at Montello, Wis., Oct. 26, 1898. To this union were born four children, three sons and one daughter. One son having passed away in 1926. Besides his wife he leaves one daughter, Marie, who is teaching school in Chicago, and two sons, Kenneth, a teacher in the schools of Marshfield, and James at home. Besides, four sisters, Mrs. Margaret Crawley of Kingston, Wis., Mrs. Lizzie Kearns, Chicago, Mrs. John Madden, Portage, and Mrs. Mary Foley of Burns, Ore., and one brother, Chas. Boylan of Portage.

Mr. Boylan suffered a stroke of paralysis about seven months ago, and since that time has been in declining health. All the comforts that could be administered to him were given, and in his passing the family is losing a good father, and a well liked citizen of the community. He had in years past served on the town board, and was an influential citizen in community work.

Funeral services will be held Friday morning from the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Withee and interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery.
