Friederich Wilhelm Schoengrund was born in Langsow by Selo, Province Brandenburg, Germany, October 8, 1857. In his early childhood he was baptized and later confirmed in the Trinity Lutheran Church of which he was a faithful member until his death.

In the year 1880 he was married to Miss Louise Meisner. In 1887 the couple with two children came to America, settling at Lomira, Dodge County, Wisconsin, where he engaged in farming. Later he worked in the lime kilns near Knowles, Dodge Co.

In 1893 they moved on a farm purchased in the town of Loyal where they lived until a few days before his death.

With the exception of a few minor ailments the deceased was in good health until his death.

Mr. Schoengrund died very suddenly, Friday, Sept. 10th, ay 3 P. M. while walking from the home of his son Carl to the home of his daughter. Death was caused by heart failure. He is survived by his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Emilie Jenni, Town of Loyal; three sons: Paul, Doylestown; Arthur, Town of Unity; and carl, Town of Loyal; sixteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church Monday at 2 P. M., Rev. W. Gamb officiating. Interment was made in the Pine Grove Cemetery.

The pallbearers were Mr. Max Neitzel, Mr. Fred Clouse, Mr. Herman Konshak, Mr. Frank Stange, Mr. Albert Davel, Mr. Herman Hinkelman. Flower girls were Misses Loretta, June, Evelyn and Marcella Schoengrund, Esther and Inez Jenni.

Those from away attending the funeral included Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schoengrund and daughters Loretta, June and Mildred and son William, Doylestown; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jenni and daughter, Rio; Miss Inez Jenni, Milwaukee; Mrs. Herman Schmidt, Randolph; Mrs. Mary Everdt, Mr. and Mrs. Esmus and son Raymond, West Bend; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Duehring and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schrieber, Friesland; Mr. and Mrs. John Duehring and daughter and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Duehring of LeRoy.

The deceased was a true and honest neighbor and a kind and loving father. He worked hard to have a good farm and a comfortable home for himself and his family. Honest and industrious he was highly respected by friends and neighbors. The deep sympathy of his friends goes to the bereaved family and relatives in their sorrow.
