ANSWERS THE FINAL SUMMONS

Moses Hebert of the Town of Unity Dies of Cancer

Another old settler has answered the final summons and gone to his reward. Tuesday afternoon Moses Hebert an old and well known resident of the town of Unity passed away after an illness of about six months. The direct cause of his death was a cancer of the lower lip. About a year ago after treating with a specialist it seemed to have disappeared but about six months ago it re-appeared in a much more aggravated form than at first and he was advised by the local physicians to arrange his earthly affairs for he was beyond Medical help.

He sold his farm and bought a residence property in the village but the family had not yet moved in from the farm when the final summons came.

Mr. Hebert was a hard working, honest and upright citizen and his departure will be regretted by his many friends and acquaintences.

The funeral was held from the Colby Catholic church at 10 a. m. Thursday, interment being made in the Unity Cemetery (Obituary next week.)

MOSES HEBERT

Moses Hebert was born at St. Ennase, Quebeck (Quebec), Canada in 1840 when twenty two years of age, he removed to Fond du Lac, where he was married to Miss Elizabeth Marcau in 1854. In 1878, while the county was practically a howling wilderness he came here and homesteaded the land upon which he died. His wife died in 1887 and the following year he was united in marriage to Mrs. Conley Hance of New York, who with eight children survive him, Charles, Noe, David, Rosalie, Arthur, Lawrence, Marie, and Richard all of whom where (were) present at the funeral.

During the thirty-four years residence here Mr. Hebert has lived an exemplary life and was highly respected by his neighbors and acquaintences.

The funeral was held from the Colby Catholic Church of which he was a devout member, and the remains were laid at rest in the Unity cemetery.

A large attendance of friends and neighbors at the funeral testified to the high esteem in which he was held
