Surnames: COLE SCHULTZ ULRICH GEARHART SPUHLER NOELDNER SPAETH FISCHER BROESKE WARNS ----- Source: Loyal TRG 11 October 2006 ----- Cole, Myrtle (24 APR 1925 – 8 OCT 2006) Myrtle “Merle” Cole, 82, Colby, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006, at St. Joseph’s Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006, at Zion Lutheran Church, Colby. Burial was in Abbotsford Public Cemetery. The Rev. Matthew Christians officiated. Pallbearers were Greg Cole, Tom Spuher, Josh Cole, Jason Cole, T. J. Cole, and Cole Noeldner. Myrtle Schultz was born April 24, 1925, in Abbotsford, to George and Emma (nee Ulrich) Schultz. She married Arthur Cole on April 12, 1944. He preceded her in death in 1992. She lived her entire life in the Abbotsford-Colby area. She worked at the Colby Hotel, Hedler’s Supermarket, Figis, and was a cook for the Colby School District. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and Colby VFW Post 2227 Auxiliary. Survivors include her children, Richard Cole, Colby, Ken (Ruth) Cole, Marathon, Glen (Kerry) Cole, Colby, Jack (Cindy) Cole, Marshfield, Ronda Gearhart, Eagle Grove, Iowa, Sharon (Mike) Spuhler, Loyal, and Barbara Noeldner, Unity; one daughter-in-law Donna (Jerry) Spaeth, Spencer; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a brother, Clyde Schultz, Spencer, two sisters, Tudie Fischer, Colby, and Carmen (Clyde) Broeske, Dorchester; and one sister-in-law, Jean (Jack) Warns, Abbotsford. |
