Herman A. Fabian, 91, died on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006, in the Palliative Care Unit at Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services were held on Monday, Oct. 23, at 11 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal. The Rev. Daniel Zimmerman officiated. Burial was in the Lutheran Cemetery.

Herman Alvin Fabian was born on Aug. 13, 1915, in the town of York, to Clarence and Ella (nee Ehlers) Fabian. He was raised in the Greenwood area, received his education at Eaton Center School, and graduated from Greenwood High School in 1934. He worked as a farmhand around Loyal and Greenwood until 1943, at which time he purchased a farm, in the town of Loyal, with his parents. In 1992, he retired from farming and moved into Loyal, where he had built a house. He resided in Loyal until the time of his death. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed farming and horses.

Survivors include two sisters, Helen Blyth, Chandler, Ariz., and Elsie Fabian, Loyal; one niece, Carole Thompson, Chandler, Ariz.; one great-nephew, William (Jennifer) Thompson, Chandler; and one great niece, Tanya (Brad) Adams, Chandler.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two sisters, Edith Fabian and Minnie Fabian; and two brothers, Alvin Fabian and Gilbert Fabian.

Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal, assisted the family with arrangements.
