(July 17, 1917 - January 29, 2005) Raymond R. Rogalski, age 87, of Thorp, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2005 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls, WI. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, February 2, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church in Thorp with Rev. Keith Apfelbeck officiating. Burial followed at Riverside Cemetery, rural Withee. Pallbearers were: Jerry Luzinski, David Luzinski, Rich Luzinski, Gregg Turenne, Karen Turenne, and Loretta Jarocki. Visitations were held at the Thorp Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 1, 2005 from 4 to 8 p.m. where a 7:30 p.m. parish and Knight’s of Columbus rosary was recited. Raymond R. Rogalski was born on July 17, 1917 in rural Thorp, WI to Martin and Victoria (Pempek) Rogalski. He attended area elementary schools and graduated from Owen-Withee High School. After high school, he worked for the railroad and farmed in the town of Withee, where he served as Town Chairman for many years. Raymond was united in marriage to Lottie Burzynski on November 5, 1960. She later passed away on May 29, 1984. He married Vickie Luzinski on December 18, 1990 and moved to his present home on the outskirts of the City of Thorp. His hobbies included playing cards, hunting, fishing, and going to the casinos. He was a member of the Thorp Moose Lodge and the Thorp Knight’s of Columbus, Council 4634. He is survived by his wife Vickie of Thorp, WI; six step-children: Loretta Jarocki of Withee, WI, Bernard (Darlene) Burzynski of Thorp, WI, Brenda (Fred) Turenne of Thorp, WI, Jerry (Ruth) Luzinski of South Milwaukee, WI, David Luzinski of Phillips, WI, Rich Luzinski of Thorp, WI; 25 step-grandchildren and many step-great-grandchildren. He is further survived by two sisters: Caroline (Florian) Sniegowski of Withee, WI, and Leona Latawiec of Batavia, IL; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lottie, one step-daughter: Charlotte Olejniczak; one brother: Louis, and one sister: Hattie. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to: St. Joseph’s Home Health Hospice, 2661 Co. Hwy. I, Chippewa Falls, WI 54729
