----Campbell, Charles (7 Jan 1832 - 11 May 1925)

Charles Campbell was born in Pennsylvania Jan. 7, 1832, and passed away at the home of his son James, near Humbird, at five o'clock Monday afternoon, May 11, 1925, after a short illness, at the age of 93 years, 4 months, and 3 days.

He moved with his parents from Pennsylvania to Racine when six years old. In 1855 he moved to Fairbanks, Iowa, where, in 1865, he was united in marriage with Miss Susana Sankey. To their union were born eight children, three of whom died in infancy.

In 1902, he moved with his family to this vicinity, which has since been his home. On Sept. 8, 1910 Mr. Campbell was called upon to mourn the death of his beloved wife, and the year before, a daughter, Mrs. Wm. Barr, preceded her to the Great Beyond.

He leaves to mourn his death, two daughters and two sons, Mrs. Wm. Hardwick and James, residing in this vicinity. Mrs. Charles Goeller of Fairbanks, Iowa, and Albert, of Pomana, Calif., all of whom, excepting Albert, were present at the burial. Deceased is also mourned by thirteen grandchildren, and other relatives, and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the Free Methodist church in this village Thursday, the Rev. C. F. Klein giving an excellent tribute to the long life and estimable character of the deceased. A large number of friends were present at the services. Burial was in the family plot in Mentor cemetery.
