Hobbs, Olive Myrtie (17 Jan. 1883 – 2 May 1932)

Olive Myrtie Johnson, younger daughter of David and Myra Johnson, was born in the town of Cleveland, Jackson county, Wisconsin Jan 17, 1883 and died at the old home, where she had always resided, excepting four years spent in the village of Fairchild, on May 2, 1932. She was 49 years, 3 months, and 15 days in age.

On August 1, 1911 she was united in marriage with Mr. Leonard Hobbs, who mourns the untimely death of a faithful, loving wife and helpmate. One sister, Mrs. Lewis Hobbs, of Fairchild, and a number of other relatives and many friends, also mourn her death.

Suffering ill health almost throughout her life-span, Mrs. Hobbs was always uncomplaining, bearing her burdens in silence and with a cheerful countenance. A week previous to her final summons she was afflicted with a paralytic stroke, from which she never rallied.

In 1913 Mrs. Hobbs united with the Methodist church in Humbird, where the funeral services were held on Thursday afternoon, Rev. Charles G. Brown, of Augusta, officiating. Burial was in Curtis cemetery in Garden Valley.

Many neighbors and friends from country and village gathered at the church to offer sympathy to hose who mourn and pay the final tribute of affection to a beloved woman, following her remains to their resting place beside the dear one who preceded her in death.
