Surname: Barrett, Biegler, Gangler, Reinhardt, Bast, Hauser Source: Clark County Press (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) Thurs., 3 Aug. 1939 Barrett, Anthony L. (15 March 1855 – 29 July 1939) Funeral services for Anthony Barrett, a single man, were held at St. Mary’s church Saturday, July 20, at 9 a.m., Rev. Fr. J. A. Biegler officiating. Interment was made in the Catholic cemetery. Nick Gangler, Frank Reinhard, Edwin Bast and John Hauser acted as pallbearers. Mr. Barrett was born March 15, 1855, being a native of Canada. When he was 10 years of ago he came to the United States and settled in Sauk County where he lived for seven years. He then moved to Chicago, residing there for six years. The next twenty-two years of his life were spent in Elma and Marshal, Iowa, and from there he went to Alaska, which remained his home for twenty years, twelve of which he acted as mail carrier. In 1920 he came to Clark County and had been a resident of the town of Beaver until last May when he came to Neillsville to be cared for at the nursing home, where he passed away last Thursday. John Barrett, a nephew, of St. Paul, and Mrs. Lucy Barrett of Elma, Iowa, a sister-in-law, are the only surviving relatives. |
