Surnames: DEGNITZ GILOY TORKE --------- The Loyal Tribune 30 December 1937 --------- Giloy, Anita (8 DEC 1915 – 22 DEC 1937) Anita Giloy, daughter of Frances and the late Carl Degnitz was born in the town of Sherman, Sheboygan County, on Dec. 8, 1915 and died Dec. 22, 1937 at her home in the town of Sherman, Clark County, of a lingering illness due to heart trouble. The deceased had reached the age of 22 years and 15 days. Funeral services were held at the Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Spencer on Sunday afternoon Dec. 26 at 2 P. M. the Rev. Staples officiating, burial was made in the Salem’s Lutheran Cemetery at Veefkind. The deceased was baptized Dec. 19, 1915 in St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherman Center, town of Sherman, Sheboygan County. She came with her parents to Clark County in 1919. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at the Ev. Lutheran Zion Church in the town of Granton. On Feb. 20, 1935 she was united in marriage to Mr. Walter Giloy. They settled on a farm in the town of Sherman, Clark County, where she lived until her death. She leaves to mourn her death her bereaved husband, her sorrowing mother, one sister, and three brothers, Walter at Montfort, Wis., Alvin, Paul and Elaine at home of Sherman, her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Torke of Adele. Her father preceded her in death nine months ago. Pall bearers were Mr. Merton Youmans, Mr. Paul Haslow, Mr. Arnold Haslow, Mr. Joe Gisler, Mr. Dale Weyhmiller, and Mr. Walter Rahm. Flowers were in charge of Mrs. Walter Rahm, Miss Emily Rahm, Miss Lorraine Greve, Miss Mavis Greve, Miss Vivian Wachholz. Those from out of town who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Torke, Mr. and Mrs. John Berkenhagen, Mr. Walter Torke, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Degnitz and son and daughter, Mrs. Herman Witthun, Mr. Emil Degnitz, Mr. Louis Degnitz, Mr. Henry Degnitz, and Mrs. August Degnitz, all from the southern part of the state. |
