Robinson, Anna (27 Aug. 1864 – 19 Nov. 1939)

Mrs. Anna Robinson, nee Anna Redmond, daughter of John and Lavonia Redmond, passed away at her home in Neillsville, Sunday, November 19, at the age of 75 years, after a short illness.

Mrs. Robinson was born at Emden Center, Maine, August 27, 1864. She came to Hudson, Wis., with her parents in 1868 and a few years later they moved to the town of York where they made their permanent home.

She attended Neillsville high school and taught near Lynn and at Christie. On August 4, 1883, she was married to Orlo L. Robinson, and they lived at Christie until 1913 when they moved to Neillsville. Mr. Robinson passed away in 1915.

Mrs. Robinson is survived by two children, Ferne Robinson, and (Hazel), Mrs. C. P. Brick, and one granddaughter, Vida E. Brick.

She was a member of the Congregational church and of the Rebekah and Royal Neighbor lodges.

Mrs. Robinson was active in promoting the Methodist church at Christie and though she was not a member, she was a loyal worker in that organization for many years. In Neillsville she showed the same interest, and often worked far beyond her strength, in the Congregational church. She was a tireless helper in the Red Cross and a charter member of the community club, an organization which long administered to people in need, children and the aged. Nor did her charity end within these organizations. She extended help and sympathy wherever she saw need. The regret occasioned by her death is widespread and sincere.

Funeral services were conducted at the Schiller Funeral Home Tuesday at 2 p.m., the Rev. G. W. Longenecker officiating.

The pallbearers were Herbert Brown, Ernest Snyder, Herbert Smith, William Ruchaber, Joseph Zimmerman, and David Parry.

Out-of-town relatives and friends in attendance at the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. John Redmond, Oshkosh, Mrs. Nellie Dilley, Portland, Ore.; who had been here since September 26, visited with Mrs. Robinson before her illness and assisted in her care during the past few weeks; Mrs. Chris Brick, Superior, who also spent many weeks with her mother and assisted at the bedside; Mrs. L. S. Ketchum and Mrs. Mary Redmond, Minneapolis; Mont Morin, Rice Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Tucker and Mrs. Albert Neis, Lodi; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Paulson, Marshfield; Mrs. Minnie Prust, Chili; Mrs. Fred Behrens and Mrs. Hazel Brown, Greenwood, Frank Bartell, Chippewa Falls, and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Morin, Minneapolis.
