Obit: Kuehn, Ferdinand (1862 – 1942)
Surnames: KUEHN SCHEIDT GEISLER WOLFGRAN SIEMS ----- Source: : Marshfield News Herald (Marshfield, Wis.) 06/20/1942 ----- Kuehn, Ferdinand (28 JUL 1862 – 19 JUN 1942) Ferdinand Kuehn, 79, who has lived in this vicinity since the fall of 1891, died at the Neillsville Hospital, Friday evening, June 19, 1942, at 7 o’clock, of complications resulting from a stroke in November, followed by one in March. He had been in the hospital for the past week. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock from the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Kuehn, and at 2 o’clock from the West Side Reformed Church. The Rev. T.H. Franzmeier will officiate at the services and burial will be made in the church cemetery. Mr. Kuehn was born in Fond du Lac July 28, 1862, and was married there to Miss Maria Scheidt on Nov. 14, 1888. Three children, all of whom survive him, were born to them. They are two sons, Huber and John, and a daughter, Mrs. Adolph (Catherine) Geisler, all of Greenwood. The family came here (Greenwood, Clark Co., Wis.) in the fall of 1891 and Mr. Kuehn’s first wife died Nov. 26, 1900. His second marriage, to Miss Maria Siems, took place at Neillsville on June 13, 1901. One son, Helmuth, of Neillsville, survives. His second wife preceded Mr. Kuehn in death six years ago. Besides his children, 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a brother, Rudolph, Huron, S.D.; and a sister, Mrs. Bertha Wolfgran, Antigo, also survive. |
