Boehnen, 90, Milwaukee, formerly of Loyal, died on Dec. 14, 2006, at Froedert Hospital, Milwaukee. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 18, 2006 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal. The Rev. Roman Kaiser officiated. Burial followed in the parish cemetery. Pall bearers were Craig Dux, Glenn Lazich, Nick Boehnen, Dale Boehnen, Brian Boehnen, Mark Wucherfeggig, and Brian Domine. Frances Marcella Hoffmann was born on Feb. 16, 1916, in the town of Curran, Jackson County, to Albert and Minnie (nee Scholl) Hoffmann. She was raised and received her education in the Merrillan area, graduating from Merrillan High School, as salutatorian in 1933. After completing her education, she worked for the telephone company in Merrillan. She married Paul Boehnen on Oct. 23, 1937, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Milwaukee. The couple lived in Milwaukee until 1943, and then moved to Alma Center to take over the operation of her husband’s family farm. In 1950, they purchased a farm and moved to Loyal. She was a homemaker and resided on the farm until her husband’s death on Sept. 30, 1977. She sold the farm and moved into Loyal where she resided until 2001. She moved back to Milwaukee and resided ay Clement Manor until the time of her death. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, where she was active in the P.C.C.W., served as an officer on the parish and deanery boards, and was one of the first Sunday school teachers at St. Anthony’s. She was also president of the Loyal Senior Citizens for several years, was a member of Clark County Homemakers, and was a 4-H leader. She had many interests, but especially enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, cooking, baking, gardening, and playing the organ. She will be sadly missed by her children, Ronald Boehnen, Fremont, Lawrence (Ruth) Boehnen, Hixton, Marlene (Bobbi) Nagel, Jackson, Kathleen (Robert) Schmidt, New Berlin, Robert (Terri) Boehnen, Waukesha, Kenneth (Karen) Boehnen, Spencer, Mary (Glenn) Lazich, New Berlin, and Eileen (Kenneth) Dux, Menomonee Falls; 21 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ruby Boehnen, Colby. Preceding her in death were her parents, Her husband, Paul; one granddaughter, one great-granddaughter; and one brother, George Hoffmann. Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal, assisted the family with arrangements. |
