Dubiak, Joseph (December 10, 1923 - December 17, 2006) W/Flag Joseph Dubiak, age 83, longtime resident of the Town of Colburn, Gilman, WI passed away on December 17, 2006 at Luther Hospital, Eau Claire, WI. A Christian Burial Mass will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Gilman, WI with Fr. John Long officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, at Huron, WI. Friends and family may call on Wednesday evening from 4-8 p.m. at the Gilman Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Thursday morning. Plombon Funeral Service of Gilman is assisting the family with arrangements. Joe was born December 10, 1923 in Lublin, WI, the son of Sam & Eva (Kopalek) Dubiak. He grew up in Lublin and attended area schools. He then served his country in the U. S. Army Air Force from 1942-1945 during WWII on Guam. He was united in marriage to Arlene Hagenson on September 27, 1944 in Clemens, MI. After his discharge from the Army he and Arlene resided in Chicago, IL where he worked for Hot Point for 5 years, then returned back to the Town of Colburn where they farmed for 53 years, retiring in 1989 but still residing on the farm. Joe loved spending time in the outdoors and in the woods, and when the weather didn’t permit that he enjoyed putting together Jig-saw puzzles. He was a longtime member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Gilman, WI and of the Gilman American Legion Post #359. He is survived by his wife Arlene of Gilman, WI; children: Duane (Susan) of Chaska, MN, Richard (Linda) of West Allis, WI, Dale (Lou Ann) of Stanley, WI, Jolene (Dale) Anderson of Chippewa Falls, WI; 11 grandchildren and 6 great- grand-children; three brothers: Frank (Helen) Dubiak of Lublin, WI, Steve (Ann) Dubiak of Streamwood, IL, Harry (Max) Dubiak of Buffalo Grove, IL; and four sisters: Ann Doerfler of Glenn Allen, VA, Pauline Zaremba of Arcadia, CA, Mary Waysylko of Missoula, MT, and Olga Berg of Tucson, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Pete and George; and two sisters: Helen and Ella. |
