Geogre Boehm Killed In S. Pacific Was the Son of Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Boehm of the Town of Spencer, Memorial Services Were Held Monday. Word was received her the latter part of last week from the war department that Pvt. George J. Boehm, aged 21 years, son of Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Boehm, of the town of Spencer, had been killed in action in the southwest Pacific theater of war. Pvt. George Boehm was a member of the Marine Corps. A military memorial service was held at 9:30 o’clock Monday morning at Christ the King Catholic church in Spencer, with Rev Joseph Grap, pastor of the Spencer church serving as celebrant at the Solemn Requiem High Mass, the Rev. Joseph Beigler of Neillsville was the deacon. The Sisters of St. Joseph hospital in Marshfield sang the mass. The Mueller-Hintz Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars and its Auxilary of Marshfield presented colors. Mrs. Al Cournoyer of Madison. a sister of the Marine attended the services as did a large number of relatives and friends of the Boehm family. The following from the VFW and Auxiliary of Marshfield attended the services; Eugene Hood, H. Face, Mark Hanson, Laurence Weigle of Mrshfield, Spence Graves, Martin Engle, Elmer Horn of Spencer, Mrs. L. Hunter, Elizabeth Heinzen, Hilda Garvue of Marshfield, Mrs. Martin Engel, Mrs. Amanda Gumz of Spencer. |
